Sharon Stieben’s deep love for animals and her commitment to personal growth and learning propelled her onto an inspiring entrepreneurial journey with her company, Dahleila Jane Bags. With over twenty-five years of experience working with children and families in Manitoba and Ontario, Sharon decided to channel her passion into creating functional and eco-friendly bags.

Armed with a business degree and enriched by international training in Scotland, Sharon reimagined her career path with a well-being-oriented mindset, which became central to her vision for the ideal bag.

In 2019, she made the courageous decision to leave her full-time provincial job and dedicate herself entirely to Dahleila Jane Bags. Her love for travel led her to destinations like Scotland, California, Nevada, Arizona, and Colorado, where she meticulously researched the finest materials, processes, and designs for her products.

Inspired by her global adventures and driven by her creativity, Sharon developed a line of multi-use organic cotton bags that merge practicality with her passion for animals, nature and forward thinking solutions. Each design is imbued with a unique touch of innovation, distinguishing them in the market.

With relentless dedication, Sharon aims to share her vision through Dahleila Jane Bags, offering eco-friendly, stylish, and versatile solutions for her customers. Every bag embodies her love for animals and her adventurous spirit, reflecting a purposeful and fulfilling entrepreneurial journey.

Remembering Dahleila Jane: A Legacy of Love
Meet Dahleila Jane (Dahlei), the beloved and spirited Husky/Shepherd Cross from Norway House, MB. Dahlei’s playful antics and joyful presence brought laughter and warmth to everyone she met—from neighborhood children and cherished seniors to close friends. Though she is deeply missed, her vibrant spirit lives on through the Dahleila Jane flower, a tribute designed by Kaylene in collaboration with Sharon.

Dahlei’s legacy continues to touch the lives of her family, including her feline brother Prince Charles (Charlie), neighbors Darlene, Kaylene, Mallory, and her best friend Bailey the beagle. At nearly thirteen years old, Dahlei left us due to cancer, but her memory remains a cherished part of our hearts.

In honor of Dahlei, every purchase of our Paws & Hope Organic Cotton cat/small dog hammock supports Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue. This initiative helps other dogs in need, including our newest family member, Islay—a lovable Husky/Shepherd/Collie Cross from Oxford House, MB—giving them the chance to live their best lives.

Dahlei’s paw prints are forever imprinted on our hearts, and Islay’s presence continues to create new memories, keeping her spirit alive in our hearts.

Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue
Manitoba Mutts is a local charity that takes in dogs and cats from across Manitoba that are abandoned, abused or surrendered at no fault of their own. They provide for the care, maintenance and rehabilitation of stray, abandoned and displaced animals and promote and improve the welfare of all animals through enhancement, protection, care, education and advocacy. When you adopt a rescue, you save a loving animal by making them part of your family and open up space for another animal who might desperately need it.
